The Award was presented during the Insight NACS Future of Convenience event in London, 24-28 September 2012. This annual event for the European and international convenience petroleum industry attracted delegates from over 22 countries this year.
The store, which is owned by Terry and Sieglinde Murphy and run by store manager Mary McGroarty has put fresh foods and value at the centre of its offer and has a strong community following as a result.
Commenting on the Award win, Terry Murphy said: “It is very gratifying for us to be acknowledged and to receive this award and see all the hard work come to light. The focus has been to be high on convenience by bringing fresh and food-for-now to the front of the store and very local. It’s been a huge team effort and we couldn’t have done it by ourselves. We are delighted with the support we received from Musgrave – it is a true retail partnership.”
Centra Rochestown is the fourth retailer to win the Insight NACS International Convenience Retailer of the Year Award.
Previous winners of the Award include Spar China (2009), Applegreen Ireland (2010) and Topaz Cashel, Ireland (2011).
Everyone at CBE would like to congratulate Terry and Sieglinde and all of their staff on this fantastic achievement.
