Number of stores: 2 (so far)

Number of employees: 20+

Years in existence: 35+ Years

1 – What made you choose CBE as your EPoS supplier?

I felt with the last provider I wasn’t getting the vital information about the sites that we needed on how it was doing/sales etc. With CBE, I can dial in from anywhere and track how we’re doing daily even in I’m not at work. It has definitely helped us drive the business forward.

2 – What are the main trends you are observing within your industry?

We’ve seen a big improvement in shop sales since increasing our range. We’re not just a fuel station anymore and customers these days especially with Covid will call into us as it’s convenient instead of going to the supermarkets so we have to make sure we can provide the service.

3 – Can you describe what a typical working day looks like for you?

The day starts with checking emails and ordering fuel for both sites, that’s before I get into work. Once at work, depending on the day it could be ordering stock for the week ahead or taking in stock deliveries and making sure the shop inside and outside is of a high standard each day.

4 – What do you love about your job?

It’s our family business and my parents started it around 35+ years ago, I take great pride in seeing how far we’ve come in improving the sites. Even looking back since the start of Covid, we’ve installed a brand new Car Wash, Jet Wash and Vacuum, new fuel pumps, increased our alcohol area, installed a F’real, Fwip and Tango Ice-Blast machines. It’s great to see the hard work paying off and listening to customer satisfaction.

5 – What do you feel is your greatest strength?

I genuinely care about the staff and the customers and will go out of my way to help them.

6 – How do you think your employees would describe you?

Hopefully a good person, we treat the staff well, most have been with us for around 15 – 20 years so that goes to show that they must like working here with us.

7 – What job role within your company would you be terrible at?

I wouldn’t be too good on the till, I like to be out and about doing other jobs rather in just one place.

8 – What is the most heartwarming thing you have ever seen an employee do for a customer?

The staff filling up elderly customers cars, and checking the tyre pressure, water etc.. Little things like that will go a long way.

9 – What do you do after a hard day at work?

Go home and chill with my little family.

10 – Finally, if you could have lunch with one person, who would it be, and why?

It would have to be my daughter, being a dad is the best job ever and I enjoy seeing her grow up and listening to what’s happening in her life.
